Castoral Gold Coast 600 – Changed Traffic Conditions

The Castrol Gold Coast 600 will take place between 23 and 25 October celebrating 25 Years Of Motorsport on The Gold Coast.

Road closures and changes to traffic will be required for the set up, running and removal of site infrastructure associated with the building and operation of this world class event.

Changes to Parking

There will be a number of changes to the parking in the affected areas. Please be alert and keep an eye out for these. City of Gold Coast Council parking signs which will be enforced, penalties will apply so please take note of these and park in accordance. This includes changes to the parking for the movement of bus stops, or the installation of other regulated parking spaces.

Public Transport

The G: will operate as normal with extra services over the weekend of the event. Some changes occur to bus stops, please call Translink on 131230 or go to the Translink website www.translink.com.au and use the Journey Planner to check.

Pushbikes and Runners

During the set up and removal phases of the event there are no major restrictions on access for cyclists and runners, however care must be taken around road works. During the event weekend access into the area is restricted to those with correct accreditation, runners are redirected either to the beach on the eastern side or to the Gold Coast Highway on the western side. Surfers Paradise

Support Categories EAST COAST BULLBARS AUSTRALIAN V8 UTE RACING SERIES and the PORSCHE CARRERA CUP AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP will be situated along The Esplanade between Staghorn Avenue and Main Beach Parade. Residents will be able to access this area outside of these times.

Main Beach and The Spit

Access to the Spit, Marina Mirage and Seaworld is open for business as usual. Approaching from the North please ensure you are in the outside lane before crossing the Southport Bridge. Approaching from the South there is no change to the access into Waterways Drive. There are a number of changes to the streets at the southern end of Main Beach, full details can be found in Road Closures section.

Tedder Avenue Main Beach

Tedder Avenue and Main Beach are both open for business as usual car parking is limited to two hours during the event. Tedder Avenue will be holding a number of activities during this period, see www.superfest.com.au for details and road closures for specifics.

Budds Beach

An emergency lane is installed on the outside northbound lane of the Gold Coast Highway. Access into and out of Budds Beach is via Cypress Avenue only. Palm, Pine, Norfolk and Brit will not be able to access the Gold Coast Highway at this time.  Residents are issued parking passes.

Paradise Waters

The northbound lanes of the Gold Coast Highway will become two way with an emergency lane installed. Police will be on duty manning the intersection at Admiralty Drive and Gold Coast Highway between 7am and 9am in the morning and 4pm and 6pm at night from Monday 19 to Monday 26 October. This will allow for vehicles travelling south on the Gold Coast Highway to turn right when directed into Admiralty Drive. At all other times vehicles will utilize the traffic signals. However if entry into Admiralty Drive is restricted with water barriers vehicles will need to continue on to Pine Avenue to perform a G turn and then approach from the south in order to gain access, please refer to the map overleaf.

Boat Passes

Restrictions will also be in place between midnight 22 October and 9pm 25 October in the waterways adjacent to McIntosh Island. Queensland Police Service and Security will be on hand to monitor traffic and only those with correct accreditation will be allowed to enter. Watercraft access will only be permitted at the northern end of McIntosh Island.
