THERE’S no doubt those who own sky-high apartments along the Gold Coast 600 track will have a bird’s eye view of the annual Supercars event.
Luckily, there are dozens up for grabs in Main Beach, Surfers Paradise and Southport for buyers wanting to be close to all the action on October 21-23.
Prices are varied, with one-bedroom units starting from $399,000 to luxury apartments on the market for $9 million.
On the higher end, a three-bedroom penthouse sprawled over the 33rd and 34th floors of The Inlet building in Main Beach is on the market offering million dollar views of the track.
The sky-high home features a contemporary open-plan design with a rooftop pool, 10 balconies, and luxury finishes.
“The apartment has 360-degree views from the bedrooms and rooftop pool entertaining floor, so you’ve got arguably some of the best views of the GC600 pitlane and the entire Gold Coast looking back towards Surfers Paradise,” McGrath’s James Ledgerwood, who is marketing the property, said.
“The owners have mentioned they have had some sensational GC600 parties and barbecues over the years.”
Just down the road, a one-bedroom apartment with views of the track can set you back just 399,000.
“The amazing crews of the GC600 race set up right on the doorstep,” Julia Keen of Keys Realty — Main Beach, said.
In neighbouring Surfers Paradise, the four-bedroom Ballah Penthouse will set you back $2.55 million while buyers can snap up a two-bedroom Southport apartment for $485,000.
REIQ Gold Coast zone chairman John Newlands said whether apartments were used to watch the GC600 action or rented out, it was a win for Gold Coast property owners.
“There’s nothing better than owning a sky-high property and looking out to the track,” Mr Newlands said.
“And if it’s in the rental pool, it gives property owners a boost and higher than normal income throughout that period.”
