Sand Safari Arts Festival takes centre stage on the sands and streets of Surfers Paradise this summer when the precinct hosts its annual celebration of sand and sea-inspired art.
The popular free event features the Australian Sand Sculpting Championships, drawing thousands of spectators to admire the country’s most talented sculptors, as they intricately carve life-sized masterpieces over three days. Visitors can vote for their favourite creation each carved from 10 tonnes of sand, and will then remain on display on the iconic foreshore until Sunday 25th February.
Sand Safari will kick off with the intriguing Sand Trail, which sees the art of sand sculpting extend beyond Surfers Paradise throughout hotel lobbies, libraries and shopping centres.
Sand Safari 2018 is a wonderful opportunity to rediscover Surfers Paradise, while experiencing the precinct’s retail offerings, restaurants, cafés and family-friendly attractions that form the Gold Coast’s playground.
