Surfers Paradise 
The Food Truck Feast and Fireworks is back again celebrating Easter at the Broadwater Parklands from 5-9pm on Sunday the 16th of April.
This event is the package of the wide variety of food, good entertainment, free entry, outdoor waterside dining, family friendly atmosphere and activities, proving to be highly popular among Gold Coast locals.
It will feature food from 27 different food trucks, 80s themed entertainment, kid’s activities and the fireworks finale.
Moreover, the entertainment includes two 80s covers bands from 5pm to 7.30pm then the Absolutley80s show at 7.30pm featuring Brian Mannix – Uncanny Xmen, Sean Kelly – Models and David Sterry – Real Life with the Absolutely 80-s band, then finishes off with the fireworks at 9pm. We will also have some fun sporting activities for the kids, roaming characters as well as an 80s silent disco on the Pier (dancing with headphones on).
The first Food truck event was held in September 2015 and was an instant success, showing Gold Coasters certainly have an ‘appetite’ for food trucks. Since then we have been staging the Food Truck Feasts generally every three months and in conjunction with occasions such as New Year’s Eve, Australia Day and Easter.
The idea for the event originated from observing the increased popularity of general street food on the Gold Coast combined with the rapid growth specifically of the food truck industry here. There appeared to be a general decline in interest in traditional food and wine type of events but increased interest in gourmet food trucks. While traditionally food trucks were just an addition to other events, the aim here was for the food trucks to be the main focus of the event and be supported by entertainment and activities.
